about

This is a song that me and my husband wrote about my grandfather who passed away. It's based on a dream I had about him along with the idea that although our hearts ache with the absence of a loved one, they're probably pain-free, at peace, and looking down on us thinking "if only they knew that everything is okay."

We also wrote and recorded this in less than 2 days, so pardon the sloppiness.

lyrics

I had a dream last night
That you were here
We were casually talking
While taking the stairs
Your breaths weren't heavy
Like I remember
And you had the biggest smile
As you told me

Everything's okay I feel no pain
My hands no longer ache
Let your sorrow wane
Like a mighty oak, I'm lush and strong
Looking down upon you
As you sing this song

Your curiosity shaped me
In just a few short years
And your kindness taught me
There's no reason to fear
And I swear I still see you
In faces you've left behind
And I cans till hear your laugh
As you tell me

Everything's okay I feel no pain
My hands no longer ache
Let your sorrow wane
Like a mighty oak, I'm lush and strong
Looking down upon you
As you sing this song

Things aren't the same without you here
You touched my face and caught a tear
But I guess I'll be okay If I follow your light
I know you're still with me like a star in the sky
And you say

Everything's okay I feel no pain
My hands no longer ache
Let your sorrow wane
Like a mighty oak, I'm lush and strong
Looking down upon you
As you sing this song

about

Krystal Caylun Pennsylvania

I was a drummer in a band called Hey, Nostradamus! for about two years, and during those years I had been longing to write songs of my own but I couldn't really do that from the drums. So, about a year ago, I started learning some simple guitar and keyboard and began writing my own music as a singer/songwriter. ... more
